Berlin Indie Football Festival
Production, concept, visual identity
The Berlin Indie Football Festival is the flagship live event of Indie Football, an independent creative studio connecting indie football clubs, creators, and brands. Bringing that identity into physical space for the first time — across a two-day conference, exhibition, and tournament — meant building a visual system that could carry a digital brand into print, signage, and live space without losing what made it distinct.
The palette draws on the legacy of SFC Unicorns, using pink as a deliberate disruption in a visual language still dominated by masculine sporting codes. A handwritten typeface, ABC Stefan, keeps the system feeling hand-made and unpolished by design — a counterpoint to the corporate gloss of mainstream football branding. At the centre of the brand sits Bernie the Bear, a mascot built to embody Berlin and the give-it-a-fucking-go attitude of indie and grassroots football, animated for social and printed across merch and signage.
The system was built to travel: large-format banners and exhibition display at the venue, custom New Balance kits created for the tournament, merch, and ticketing all carrying the same identity — so it felt as considered on the wall of a venue as it did on screen.
